July 22 1941. The girl next door is getting married. Anne Frank is leaning out of the window of her house in Amsterdam to get a good look at the bride and groom. It is the only time Anne Frank has ever been captured on film. At the time of her wedding, the bride lived on the second floor at Merwedeplein 39. The Frank family lived at number 37, also on the second floor.

* Anne Frank (1929 – 1945) was one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust. She gained international fame posthumously after her diary was published. It documents her experiences hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II.

I searched for this, to see if it was already up to reblog, and what I found instead were many, many reposts of her quote “I think a lot, but I don’t say much.” Of all the things that Anne clearly *did* have to say, the one we’re sharing the most is the one where she stated that she didn’t often feel able to? Yes, a lot of us need to learn to think before we speak. A lot of us, however, also need to learn to speak up when we think something important.
